Lone Star Inn

I travel all over the country and have stayed in many many hotels. I don’t generally give reviews because most just meet standards or have very minor problems. But I couldn’t pass up the chance to comment on the Lone Star Inn. First off, you can’t beat the location. It’s right off the highway with easy in and out access. The room prices are virtually unbeatable. There’s plenty of parking. The room was clean and comfortable stocked with everything a person needs to shower off the trail dust. Breakfast, yes they have a breakfast room, (I know it’s hard to believe with their unbelievably low room price). Breakfast fare may not be extensive, but it is plentiful and satisfying. The owners are wonderful people and should be applauded for maintaining such a great little hotel at this price point. This is my new favorite place to stay…!

Amazing value and location. Rooms were surprisingly clean and well kept. There were no stains in the sheets and the bathroom was spotless aside from a somewhat dirty mirror. The only downside to this hotel is that there is some highway noise and thin walls. I could hear the neighbor's TV, but it wasn't too disturbing. The air conditioning unit is also very loud, so I kept it off at night. Wifi is fast and stable, will stay here again if I get the chance. EDIT: Stayed here in August 2022 for a second time and the experience was exactly the same as before. The price did go up by about $20-30 but not too extreme. Air conditioner is still very loud, but the rooms are kept clean. The owners are friendly and the location is good!

We enjoyed our stay at the lone Star, the room was spotless, the sheets smelled so fresh, the shower felt wonderful and breakfast was very adequate. We enjoyed the waffle and fresh fruit, orange juice,and of course coffee. Great value!

I travel a lot for work and was admittedly nervous about staying here since I usually stay at more well known hotels. Since I was going to be in Decatur for four days I wanted to stay somewhere comfortable. I looked at the reviews and they were solid so I decided to give it a try. It was very affordable and the owner Champ and his wife were incredibly sweet. They are kind people and keep their rooms clean for you. If I am ever back in town I would 100% rather stay here than anywhere else!

The staff was friendly and accommodating. The room was nice size, comfortable, and quiet. The breakfast wasn't much, but was certainly sufficient. It was a great price for a great stay. And to top it off, the owner used to live in the same town in OK as my parents! That sure make my mom feel at home.

After getting booted from another hotel for “not enough clean rooms” (even though we booked it through the hotel), Champ and the Lone Star Inn saved the day!!! We booked 2 king rooms for 4 adults. Hotel was very clean, smelled great, beds were comfy, and rooms were spacious. They protected the beds very well (it’s something I look at even in huge hotels) so I felt very comfortable sleeping on them and knowing they were clean! No stains on the sheets and they also smelled & felt clean. There was a mounted TV in the room, mini fridge and microwave. Bathrooms were nice! It’s worth mentioning they were able to take us in at 9pm at night. Great rates despite such a late check-in. The parking lot was well lit so we felt safe keeping our vehicle on their lot. We are so thankful for Champ, his wife & their hospitality! We will definitely be staying again if we come through TX!

The rooms, service and location are really good. It's right off the highway but you don't hear the traffic. There's lots of stores and food close but I wouldn't say walking distance. Still the location is in a convenient area. The worst part about this hotel is the shower. It is a very good hotel other than the shower which to me is important.

Stayed here to be close to River Valley MX park check in was really nice and the place was clean the lady that checked us in was very friendly we had breakfast and the guy at check out was very nice as well we will definitely stay again

Mr. Patel was so great and able to help us when we had to evacuate due to Hurricane Beryl damages. They accepted my cats with a pet fee and continued to ask about our house and the damage. The beds were a tad bit too firm but we slept good and the a/c blew super cold! If I am ever in the area again I will gladly stay here again.

Husband and I stayed here for the weekend and we were definitely impressed. The price was wonderful. Location excellent. But more than anything, the service was beyond excellent. The hotel is owned and managed by an absolutely delightful couple. They are so sweet and accommodating. Just wonderful people. The room was perfect for us. Everything was super clean. We will definitely be back and I've already recommended The Lone Star Inn to friends and family.
